Piano Trio

My piano trio is touring as part of Angela Slater's 'Illuminate' series. It was performed by the Ethel Smyth Trio on August 30th in Brighton, and September 7th, in York. More performances follow.

String Quartet no.2

The Bloomsbury String Quartet will be playing String Quartet no.2 on Friday June 21st in the Stroud Green Festival. This is the first concert in a 2019/2020 tour of their programme 'Re:Centred', focussing on Elizabeth Maconchy, plus LeFanu and Vaughan Williams.

Catalan residency

Nicola LeFanu was in residence at the Centre d'Art i Natura, Farrera de Pallars, in the high Pyrenees, from May 23rd to June 10th. http://www.farreracan.cat

During May and June she was 'Composer of the Month' in the Bodleian Music library, Oxford.

"The Swan" in USA and Sextet in York

"The Swan" for baritone and piano was performed by Jeremy Huw Williams and Paula Fan on April 19th, at Auburn University, Alabama. Williams will record 'The Swan', in its instrumental version, later this year.

On May 4th, Sextet 'Fasach, a Wild Garden' will be performed by Alex Wilson and Dr K ensemble. The concert is at 7.30pm, St Saviourgate Chapel, York, in the Late Music Concert Series.

Piano trio performance March 8th 2019

The Albany Piano trio gave a beautiful performance of my piano trio, in the Stoller Hall at Chetham's in Manchester, on International Women's Day 2019. It marked the end of a very busy week for me: a masterclass with young women composers at Manchester University, on Monday March 4th; BBCRadio 3 on Tuesday 5th (BBCSO Afternoon concert) and Wednesday 6th (In Tune) and a presentation and panel discussion at Chetham's on Thursday 7th.

PRSF Composers' Fund award for orchestral album on NMC

PRSF have made me a grant from the Composers' Fund, for an NMC album of four major orchestral works. The CD will appear in 2020.

'Threnody' broadcast BBCPhil/Rundell

'Threnody', for large symphony orchestra, was broadcast on BBC Radio3 on Monday January 28th, in 'Afternoon Concert'. The BBC Philharmonic is conducted by Clark Rundell. It will be available on iplayer for a month.
